Design Blog

With this blog we want to share some thoughts on our design process. Every piece and Artwork has a unique story that we want to tell you.

No Rain No Flowers

.. how can there be flowers, if there is no rain?

This design expresses a situation, we’re all in sometimes. One day you wake up and something happens, you can’t control or you just feel bad. The rainy days in life. The good thing is, we all have them and it’s natural that you can’t feel great every day of the year. Rain is part of life.

But we can’t forget, if we really seek for better days, there will always be sunny days ahead. Since social media became so present, it became natural to compare our live to a filtered online reality. We live in a society where we tend to just show our sunny days online, which makes it easy to think we’re sitting alone in the rain.

This piece represents, no matter how hopeless the situation seems sometimes, if you really want it, there will be better days!

Trust us, if there’s no rain, there won’t be flowers!

On-&-Off Relationships

This piece is inspired by our favorite Burger place from overseas. It’s called In-N-Out Burger and every time we’re in California, this is definitely our go to. One time during our Cali trip, when we had “dinner” in the parking lot, we kept glancing at their logo as we were watching a beautiful sunset.

We started talking about it and both knew, this should be part of a future design. Sharing our ideas over a few beers with our homies, one of them came up with On-&-Off Relationships.

We started having a conversation about how fast our society has become. It feels like we’re constantly meeting new people but also loose touch to others, who we may have been close to.

But On-&-Off Relationships also describe a special type of relationship. These bonds, where you haven’t seen your buddy in years but when you meet again, it feels like nothing ever changed.

We always put some personal influence in our designs and we thought, this is something people can relate to.

C.R.E.A.M.

Our supplier in Portugal made these sick cream tee blanks and we ordered them before even having any design in mind. A few weeks later we were driving in the car listening to some old school hip hop.

CREAM from Wu-Tang Clan feat. Notorious B.I.G came on. “Cash rules everything around me, CREAM, get the money, dollar dollar bill y’all!”. There we had our wording for a new design. C.R.E.A.M. stitched on the chest and in the back on the bottom right corner the lyrics. Sometimes, it’s that easy.

Luckily, our dad allowed us to use his 69 Devil Cadillac, which has pretty much exactly the same color as our cream combo. And there was our content.
